Love,
friends, passion, sharing, fun, challenge…11 exciting camps with
more than 300 girls!
A unique concept – for pros and beginners.
“Girlie Camps is a great project, because it gives girls the opportunity
to ride with other girls from all over the world in the best conditions.
They can look at each other and learn from that and also get good instruction
from the tutors. I think by looking at other people ride, and by having
a good time with these people, you will learn and develop fast while having
a lot of fun! When I was coaching at one of the camps in Livigno, I had
so much fun! We built a jump in the backcountry and everybody progressed
with at least one new move! I also got the feeling of "back in the
good old days when everything was fun" when I was hanging out with
the girls, it was such a good atmosphere and everybody was enjoying the
moment with a big, happy smile on their face!”
Kjersti Buaas, Burton Snowboards - Coach at the Livigno Snow Camp,
January 2004
After last season’s
success with seven different spots around Europe, Girlie Snow Camps will
hit eleven European resorts this year. Girls all over the world will gather
in the Pyrenees, in the Alps and all the way up at the Polar Circle to
improve their riding skills, learn about the mountains, make new friends
and have fun together! Girlie Snow Camps are organized with professional
instructors together with the unique concept of female pro riders as inspirational
coaches during the week. After the first season of the Girlie Snow, Skate
and Surf Camps the media interest has been great and the concept of getting
girls together from all over the world to ride together is working perfect.
“After 15 weeks
of Girlie Camps in 2004 behind me, I can definitely see that a new movement
is going on. Girls all over the world want to learn to ride more and obviously
the Girlie Camps provide a perfect environment to meet other girls and
improve the riding skills. I am so proud to have the opportunity to meet
all these fantastic girls and I am looking forward to the new season.
We are proud to co-operate for the second year with Burton and Roxy and
it is great to see them putting lot of energy to the Girlie Camps.”
Says Marika Borg, founder of Girlie Camps
“I had such a great time in Livigno; I think it goes down as one
of the best times I've ever had snowboarding! My riding improved more
in one week of Girlie Camp than it did all season; it gave me the confidence
to try things I wouldn't usually do. Plus I got to make some good girlfriends.”
Samantha Taylor, 23, UK
A unique
event programme
The Girlie Camps cover all disciplines from halfpipe to parks to freeriding,
depending on the resort. The coaching is for all levels from beginners
to advanced.
Burton and Roxy female pro riders are attending each camp to join the
girls on the slopes and give useful tips. Beside snow lessons, the camps
provide a full variety of other activities like yoga, climbing, sleighing,
ice-skating, spa and of course discovering the busy nightlife of the ski-resorts.
Prices vary between 400-600euros depending on the camp and its length.
WATCH OUT!:
Four girls from the Girlie Snow Camps will qualify to participate at the
Roxy Chicken Jam, in St Moritz, 8-10th of April. The whole Girlie Community
will be there for a big gathering.
