OSAGE, Iowa
(November 8, 2001)--What seems to be the biggest complaint of those
on the slopes? Their feet feel cold and tired. Wearing the right boots
is not enough. Comfort and performance are enhanced when socks fit right
and feet stay dry and warm. Fox River, a leading manufacturer of sport-specific
hosiery and handwear, has just what skiers and snowboarders need: innovative
socks that fit and keep feet comfortable under a variety of conditions.
The company continues its tradition of innovation in design with its
newest styles for winter 2002-2003.
“Custom fit is the single biggest trend in basic layer apparel.
And only recently has that translated to socks,” says Jeff Lessard,
executive vice president, Fox River. “I’m proud to say Fox
River led the way by creating our award-winning anatomical socks, VVS®.
Now, we’ve done it again with our Fox River for Women™ line.”
Fox River for Women™ socks are made to fit women’s feet.
Women’s feet tend to be narrower in the heels with more rounded
toe areas. Fox River for Women™ socks have rounder toe boxes to
eliminate extra material at the toes (no more bunching); and comfortable
new microfibers along with Lycra® 3D (some styles also have super-soft
merino wool or DuPont Tactel® Aquator™) to ensure the best
high-performance wickability and a lightweight “memory fit.”
The socks are knit with a special “flex-stretch” design
at the heel to keep socks from slipping and to help prevent blisters.
Fox River’s latest for ski socks include Fox River for Women™
#5510 Wick Dry® Andorra. This style is made specifically to
fit the shape of a woman’s foot offering high performance and
exceptional comfort for alpine, Nordic and backcountry skiing. The Wick
Dry® Andorra wicks moisture, provides thermal insulation, has a
cushiony knit shin area to absorb shock, and a Lin-Toe® no feel
seam for no irritation at the toes. Colors: black with silver, sapphire
with silver, and celery with silver.
Also new for skiing, is Fox River’s #5545 Wick Dry® Triumph,
a sock that features Fox River’s unique Wick Dry® Health System
to keep feet dry, healthy and comfortable. With DuPont’s Thermolite
® and super-soft merino wool, skiers have the best of both synthetic
and natural fibers to move away moisture and keep feet warm. The Wick
Dry® Triumph is cushioned and has a Thermalined sole for shock absorption
and insulation. Colors: celery with silver, sapphire with silver, and
black with silver.
